These terms govern the use of the Android app Sea Duel. If the app is obtained through Google Play, Google's terms apply in addition.
You receive a simple, non-exclusive right to use the app on your devices. The app is provided free of charge and contains neither advertising nor in-app purchases. There are no accounts and no registration.
The app began as a port of an existing Python game published under the MIT licence, and that licence still governs the parts derived from it. Its notice travels with every copy of the app: it is printed in full under Info › Open source.
Two copyrights sit in the app: the original work © 2017 Danny Burt, and the Android app © 2026 Andreas Grauf. The app's own source is not published. The relay is, under the same MIT licence, and may be used, modified and passed on under its terms.
The app's name and icon are not a permission to present a modified version as though it were this one.
The app can connect to another device — over a shared Wi-Fi, over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct, or through a relay. You choose whom you play against and which relay you use.
There is no entitlement to availability, to particular features or to future updates. Features may be added, changed or removed.
The app is provided without warranty of freedom from defects or fitness for a particular purpose. The provider's liability is limited to intent and gross negligence. For injury to life, body or health, and for claims under product liability law, statutory liability applies without limitation.
The app stores its data locally only and creates no backups. No liability is accepted for loss of your scores or of a game in progress — for example through uninstalling, clearing the app's storage, or changing devices. A game against another device cannot be resumed once the connection ends.
The app collects no personal data and sends nothing to the provider. What is transmitted when two devices play each other is set out in the privacy policy.
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country of your habitual residence remain unaffected.
