Four Wins collects no personal data and embeds no third-party services. Playing the machine, or two players on one device, nothing leaves the device. Only for a game against another person over the net does the app contact a game server, and then moves are all that travels.
What the app may do depends on the platform. On Android it requests exactly
one permission: INTERNET. On iPhone and iPad it
requests none and shows no permission prompt. On the Mac it runs in Apple's
sandbox, which allows it outgoing network connections and nothing else. On every platform the
network is needed solely for games against other people. There is no access to camera,
microphone, contacts, location, storage or any other sensitive device function.
A net game starts only when you create one yourself under Over the net on the game screen, or join one with a code. No connection is made before that.
What travels between the app and the game server: a six-character game code, a random session token issued by the server, and the moves as numbers. No name, no device identifier, no account. The server does not know the rules and keeps only the move sequence of the running game in memory; after three hours without use it is forgotten. As with any request over the net, the IP address of your connection is technically visible to the server; it is neither logged nor stored.
Only the following is stored, and only on the device:
None of this identifies a person. It lives in the app's private storage — on Android in
SharedPreferences files, on iPhone, iPad and Mac in the app's own settings store
(UserDefaults) — accessible only to the app itself, and is removed when the app is
uninstalled.
Inside the app, Reset statistics deletes the numbers for good at any time.
Outside a net game nothing is transmitted to the developer or to third parties, and inside one only moves travel. No ad networks, no analytics or crash reporting services and no third-party data collection libraries are used. There are no user accounts and no sign-in.
The app's info page links to this website, to an overview of other apps, and to email and the app store (Google Play or the App Store). Tapping a link hands over to the responsible app on your device — from that moment the privacy terms of that provider apply, for example Google's for the Play Store or Apple's for the App Store.
If the app is obtained through Google Play, Google processes its own data as part of distribution and installation. The developer of this app has no influence over that; Google's privacy policy applies.
If the app is obtained through the App Store, Apple likewise processes its own data as part of distribution and installation, again outside the developer's influence; Apple's privacy policy applies.
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data — from children or anyone else.
Since no personal data is processed, no claims for access, correction or erasure arise against the developer. You can delete the locally stored values yourself at any time: via Reset statistics, via the device's app settings (“clear storage” on Android), or by uninstalling.
If the app's functionality changes, this policy will be updated. The date above names the version currently in force.
