These Terms of Use govern the use of the Secret Notes mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these terms.
The app lets you create, store, edit and organise notes. Note types include text with rich formatting, checklists, spreadsheets, Markdown, audio and video recordings, and tally counters. Notes can be sorted into folders and categories, carry file attachments, reminders and version history, and be placed on the home screen as widgets.
Optional protection features are an app lock by PIN and/or biometrics, a per-note lock, and screenshot protection. Your notes are encrypted on the device.
Optional synchronisation and backup: local and automatic backups, direct device-to-device sync over your local network, and backup or multi-device sync against a cloud storage service you choose and configure yourself. The provider operates no server of its own.
Available functionality may vary depending on the device, operating system version and the permissions you grant.
The app can be used free of charge. Some features require the paid Pro version, which is a one-time purchase — there is no subscription. Once per installation you can start a free seven-day trial of the Pro features without entering payment details.
Purchases are processed exclusively by Google Play; the provider receives no payment data. Cancellation and refunds are governed by the terms of the respective store.
When a trial ends or Pro access is lost, content you have already created remains accessible. Only the Pro-only functions stop being available.
The provider may change which features belong to Pro. Features already purchased will not be revoked.
You can set up a PIN or biometric authentication for certain functions. You are responsible for keeping your access data confidential. In the event of loss or unauthorised access, you are obliged to take appropriate measures.
All content that you create or upload in the app (notes, images, etc.) remains your responsibility. You may not post any content that violates applicable law or the rights of third parties.

All rights to the app, its design and content are held by the provider, unless otherwise stated. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app in accordance with these terms and conditions.
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, the provider's liability for damages is limited. No guarantee is given for data loss; regular backups are recommended.
The provider may modify these terms of use or the app's features. Your continued use constitutes your agreement to such modifications.
The provider may restrict or block access to the app in the event of violations of these terms and conditions. You may terminate your use of the app at any time.
German law applies to these terms and conditions, unless mandatory provisions require otherwise. The place of jurisdiction is determined by the statutory provisions.
