Privacy Policy for VocabTrain

1. Introduction

This privacy policy informs about the type, scope and purpose of processing personal data when using the app VocabTrain.

2. System Features Used

• Text-to-Speech — for reading vocabulary aloud via the system speech synthesizer (AVSpeechSynthesizer). No audio data is recorded or transmitted.
• Translation — optional inline translation via Apple's Translation framework. Text is processed by Apple on-device or via Apple servers; Apple's privacy policy applies.
• In-App Purchases — via Apple's StoreKit. Payment data is processed exclusively by Apple; the developer has no access to payment information.

3. Purpose of System Features

Text-to-speech is used to read vocabulary aloud in various learning modes. The translation feature assists in creating flashcards. In-app purchases allow unlocking additional features (Pro version) and card capacity.

4. Processed Data

- Vocabulary decks and cards (user-created learning content)
- Learning progress and settings
- Purchase status (Pro version, card packs — stored locally in UserDefaults)

5. Storage and Transmission

All data is stored exclusively locally on the user's device. No data is transmitted to external servers or third parties.

6. Legal Basis

Processing is based on consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or to fulfill user services requested by the user.

7. Disclosure to Third Parties

No data is shared with third parties. The app contains no advertising, tracking or analytics services.

8. Storage Duration

Vocabulary cards and learning progress are stored as long as the user keeps them in the app. Deletion functions are available in the app.

9. Security

All data is stored locally on the device and protected by the device's security features.

10. Rights of Data Subjects

Users have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and revocation of consent. Please direct inquiries to agrauf67@gmail.com.

11. Revocation and Uninstallation

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from the device. Individual features such as text-to-speech can be restricted in iOS Settings under "Apps > VocabTrain".
