Privacy Policy for Data Manager Classic

1. Introduction

This privacy policy informs about the type, scope and purpose of processing personal data when using the app Data Manager Classic. Data Manager Classic lets you build your own relational databases with user-defined tables and fields. All content you create in the app stays on your device.

2. Permissions Used

The app requests the following permissions, all on demand and only when you trigger the corresponding feature:

• Location (coarse) — Only used when you tap "Use current" on a Location-typed field, in order to fill that field with your current latitude and longitude. The coordinates are stored locally with the rest of your data and are never transmitted by the app.
• Photo library / image picker — Only used when you attach an image to an Image-typed field or set a per-database background image. The selected image is copied into the app's private storage and referenced by filename. The system picker does not give the app access to your wider photo library.

The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, network, or notification permissions.

3. Processed Data

Everything Data Manager Classic processes is content you create yourself:

• Your databases, tables, fields, references, and the row values you enter
• Images you attach to Image-typed fields and per-database background images (stored as files in app-private storage; referenced by filename)
• GPS coordinates you explicitly capture into Location-typed fields
• App-level settings (theme, language, automatic lock-after-inactivity timeout)
• Per-database password hash and wrapped passphrase, when you choose to set a password and enable encryption

Data Manager Classic performs no telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, or behavioural tracking.

4. Storage and Transmission

All data is stored exclusively on your device, in app-private storage:

• A local SQLite database (Room on Android, GRDB on iOS)
• Image files in the app's private files directory
• App settings via the operating system's preferences store

No data is transmitted to any server controlled by the developer or to any third party. The app makes no network requests.

5. Encryption

You can optionally protect a database with a password and mark individual fields as encrypted. Encrypted field values are stored on disk as Blowfish/CBC ciphertext under a passphrase-derived key; the passphrase itself is wrapped under a key derived from your password. Forgetting your password makes encrypted fields unreadable — there is no recovery mechanism, by design.

6. Third-Party Interactions

The app does not embed any third-party SDK for analytics, advertising, or cloud sync. Some user actions hand off to other apps installed on your device:

• Tapping a URL, Email, or Phone field opens the system's default browser, mail, or dial handler. Those apps are governed by their own privacy policies.
• Tapping "Open in Maps" on a Location-typed field opens the device's default maps application with the captured coordinates.
• The CSV transfer feature can write to or read from a file you pick via the system file picker, or copy to / paste from the system clipboard. The choice of destination is yours.
• The "Share definition" feature uses the same system file picker, system clipboard, and the system share sheet (AirDrop, Mail, Files, …) to hand a database — schema only, or schema with data — to a recipient. The choice of recipient and transport is yours.

No data is shared with the developer or third parties through these interactions unless you initiate them yourself.

7. Legal Basis

Where applicable, processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or to fulfill the local-only data-management functions you request from the app.

8. Disclosure to Third Parties

No data is shared with third parties. The app contains no advertising, tracking, or analytics services.

9. Storage Duration

Your databases, images, and settings are stored as long as the app is installed. You can delete individual rows, tables, databases, or images from within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from the device.

10. Security

All data is stored in app-private storage protected by the operating system's per-app sandbox. Optional per-database password protection and per-field encryption add further protection for sensitive content; see section 5.

11. Rights of Data Subjects

Users have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and revocation of consent. Because all data lives on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly within the app (edit, delete, export to CSV, uninstall). For inquiries, contact agrauf67@gmail.com.

12. Uninstallation

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from the device, including databases, attached images, and app settings.

13. Changes to Privacy Policy

Changes will be published within the app and on the app's website, and take effect upon the next update.
