AES-256-GCM, 12-byte random nonce per field, 16-byte authentication tag. Format: v1:<b64(iv)>:<b64(ct+tag)>. The 256-bit data encryption key is wrapped in an Android Keystore key — it never leaves the hardware-backed key store in plaintext.
