Terms of Service
1. General
These terms of service govern the use of the mobile application Shopping Manager Classic (hereinafter "App"). By using the App, you agree to these terms.
2. Service Description
The App is a shopping list manager that lets you organize items with shops, categories, units, prices, quantities, notes and photos across one or more shopping lists. It offers needed/checked shopping modes, sorting and filtering, alternative shop prices and a best-buy unit-price comparison, CSV import and export, and a trash and archive with restore functionality. It also includes recipes with ingredients, planned purchases with reminders, and a barcode scanner for putting items on the list.
3. Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device. This includes items, shops, categories, units, photos, notes, recipes, lists and preferences. No account is required. Data leaves your device only through the two optional features described in section 5, or when you actively export or share it.

5. Third-Party Services
The App contains no advertising, no tracking and no analytics services, and its core functions work fully offline. Exactly two optional features use an internet connection, and both only after an explicit action on your part:
- Barcode product-name lookup — when you scan an unknown barcode, only the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org) to suggest a product name. The suggestion is a convenience; no guarantee is given for its accuracy.
- Cloud sync (Pro) — your data is encrypted on your device with your sync password and stored only in the cloud storage you select (Nextcloud or WebDAV). Your relationship with that storage provider is governed by their own terms. If you lose your sync password, the stored data cannot be recovered.
Selecting images uses the Android system photo picker. Barcode scanning uses Google Play services on your device. When you choose to export or share data (e.g. by email or to another app), that data is handed to the app you select, which is subject to its own terms and privacy policy.
6. In-App Purchase (Pro)
The App is free to use. Some features — the home screen widget, the ZIP backup, the encrypted cloud sync, list backgrounds, more than three lists and more than three recipes — require Pro, a one-time in-app purchase. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
The purchase is processed by Google Play, is tied to your Google account and can be restored on your other devices with the Restore purchase function. Payment, invoicing and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's terms; refund requests are therefore to be directed to Google Play. The purchase unlocks the features present in the App at the time of purchase; the provider may add, change or discontinue individual features (see section 9).
7. Copyright and App Content
All rights to the App, its design and content belong to the provider, unless otherwise stated. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App in accordance with these terms.
8. Liability
The App is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, the provider's liability for damages is limited. No guarantee is given for the accuracy of prices, calculations or imported data, or against data loss. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important data (e.g. via the CSV export).
9. Changes to Terms and App
The provider may modify these terms of service or features of the App. Your continued use constitutes acceptance.
10. Termination
You may terminate use at any time by uninstalling the App. All locally stored data will be removed upon uninstallation.
11. Applicable Law
These terms are governed by German law, unless mandatory provisions require otherwise. Jurisdiction is determined by statutory provisions.
